Change the default journey email template

Last updated 13 October 2026

Every box set comes with a recommended invite email. You can change the wording to suit your firm, and it's used every time you send that box set.

Find the templates

Go to Settings and open the Email templates tab.

The Email templates tab

  1. Multi topic: the email used when you send a client more than one box set at once.
  2. Custom: you've changed this one.
  3. Default: this one uses the standard Money Alive wording.

If you don't see Email templates, it isn't included in your plan.

Edit a template

  1. Click the template.
  2. Change the wording (1). Keep the placeholders in curly brackets, such as {name}. They're swapped for the real details when the email is sent.
  3. Press Save (2).

Editing a template

To go back to the standard wording, press the arrow next to Save (3) and choose Reset.

You can also change the wording for one client while sending, without changing the template. See Send a box set invite.

Placeholders

Placeholder What it's replaced with
{inviteInstructions} How to sign in to Money Alive. Every template must include this.
{name} The client's name.
{admin} The name of the system user sending it.
{url} The link to Money Alive.

When you save, any placeholder that isn't recognised, or a missing {inviteInstructions}, is flagged so you can fix it.
