Unable to edit a client

If Money Alive Office won't let you edit a client, it's usually because the client has already authenticated, or because the record is an example client. Both are by design.
Why editing is blocked
| Reason | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Authenticated client | Once a client has logged in and started their journey, only they can update their own details (first name, surname, contact number) via My Account. |
| Example client | Example clients cannot be edited after they are created. Create a new client record if you need different details. |
What to do
- Check whether the client has logged in — their record will show as authenticated.
- If they have, ask the client to update their own details from My Account.
- If the record is an example client and you need to make changes, create a new client record with the correct details.
