Unable to edit a client

If Money Alive Office won't let you edit a client, it's usually because the client has already authenticated, or because the record is an example client. Both are by design.

Why editing is blocked

Reason Behaviour
Authenticated client Once a client has logged in and started their journey, only they can update their own details (first name, surname, contact number) via My Account.
Example client Example clients cannot be edited after they are created. Create a new client record if you need different details.

What to do

  1. Check whether the client has logged in — their record will show as authenticated.
  2. If they have, ask the client to update their own details from My Account.
  3. If the record is an example client and you need to make changes, create a new client record with the correct details.
