Sharing a Video Explainer

Last updated 13 October 2026

You can share any Video Explainer your firm can send with a public link. Anyone with the link can watch it, without signing in or entering an access code. You can also embed it on your own website.

Public views are anonymous. We count how many times the explainer is played, but we never record who watched.

Turning a link on

  1. Go to Video library and open the Video Explainers tab.
  2. Open the explainer you want to share and press Share (1).

The Share button at the top of a Video Explainer

  1. In the Share window, switch on Let anyone with the link watch, without signing in (1).
  2. Copy what you need:
    • Link (2): press Copy and send it in an email, a message or a social post.
    • Embed on your website (3): press Copy and paste the code into your website editor, or send it to whoever looks after your website.
  3. Press See what viewers see (4) to check the public page.

The Share window with the link switched on

Explainers with a link switched on show a Public label in the Video library.

What viewers see

The public page shows the same intro screen and player your clients see, with your firm's logo, colours and Next steps. Viewers press Play (1) to start. Nobody's details are shown: no adviser name or email, and no client.

The public page a viewer sees

Search engines are asked not to list the page, so people find it through your link or your website.

How views are counted

Seeing your views

Go to Analytics and open the Shared videos tab.

The Shared videos tab in Analytics

  1. Date range: pick the period to count views for. It's the same date range as on the Overview and Usage tabs.
  2. Totals: how many of your Video Explainers have a public link switched on, views in the period, and views of all time.
  3. Table: every explainer you can share, whether its link is public or off, and its views.

Click a row to open that explainer's Share window.

Views of shared links are kept apart from client journeys. Journeys you send to clients still show in the Overview and Usage tabs, as before.

Turning a link off

Open the explainer, press Share and switch the link off. It stops working straight away, including anywhere it is embedded. Anyone opening it sees "This video is no longer available".

If you switch it on again later, you get the same link back, so a link already on your website starts working again.

A link also stops working if the explainer is no longer available to your firm.

Who can share

Any system user can see a link. Restricted users can't switch links on or off.

Sharing is a feature switched on per firm. If you don't see a Share button, contact us to ask about it.
